A Season of Generous Giving

In a season of tremendous community support, the Treasure Valley community filled SNAPS's donation shelves with needed items to provide comfort for foster children when they come into care as well as those already in foster care families. They also donated many $25 gift cards to be tucked into Christmas stockings or used to purchase a special gift for a child.

Please convey our thanks to everyone who made this Christmas such a special one for a three year-old who absolutely loves every single gift he received.  He especially loves the Lightning McQueen watch. He is so pleased with it, showing it to everyone one, telling them that Santa brought it to him.  The Christmas Gift Project was a success for this foster family.  The gifts were exactly what I thought the foster child would enjoy. ~Deborah

Lots of thanks from me!  My kids (foster) were very grateful.  They loved everything they got. ~ Rosie

We are definitely thankful for the gifts [received]!! It was overwhelming, the help she received.  I honestly believe that it was her best Christmas to date!  WE THANK ALL OF THOSE WHO DONATED AND WE PRAY THAT WE CAN BE ABLE TO PAY IT FORWARD one of these days soon.  Thank you so much once again. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas as well and we hope you have a Happy New Year and may 2013 be filled with more blessings for you due to your generosity. ~Pete & Letty

Dear Friends,

We so appreciate the generous gifts that were given this year to our foster kids!  Christmas was a very special day with lots of fun and excitement for all of us this year as the children played so well with their new toys.  Two of the girls got in-line skates and they could hardly wait to get out and try them out (even in the cold).  We sincerely appreciate how much trouble you all went to, to give the gifts that we suggested and the gift cards for those that you couldn't find.  We hope you have a wonderful New Year and the Lord blesses you for your generosity.

The kids were so surprised and pleased with all that they received!  I don’t think Jason has ever had his own Legos and is really enjoying them!  Emma loves the bath time Barbie and is wanting to take baths all the time now!

Thank you so much for blessing the children with this.

~Vickie

We do appreciate you taking the time to think of the kids! They really can use some positive things to happen in their lives.  It also helps us as foster parents. It is awesome to see the smiles! Thank You !!

To everyone who helped to make our foster children's Christmas so special:

We would like to send a gigantic thank you out to all of you.  I wish that we could capture each smile, each look of surprise and the utter joy that radiates from giving our foster children gifts like they have never had before, so that we could send them to you.  It has been a long time since I, as a child could not sleep on Christmas, yet I found myself lying awake most of Christmas Eve, anticipating the excitement that I knew our foster children would experience the next morning, as they saw all of blessings that "Santa" had left them, all because of you.  You do the hard work, the buying, the gathering and the love and thought that goes into each gift, yet do not get to see the giant impact that you have.  These toys are not simply just toys...they are showing a child their importance.

Thank you for all you do to give,

The V Family

This was the best Christmas for the three children I have!  They were super happy with their gifts.
Thanks to all that helped make it a special Christmas for these children that deserved it.

Thank you again, Sonya

The gifts received by the kiddos in our home were so loved!  Since the kids we have are still small, it reinforced their belief in Santa and helped their Christmas feel magical.  As for the adults in our home, we were moved to "pass it on" and help others in need in a variety of ways.  We all loved that our faith in the kindness of strangers was renewed.  THANK YOU! Rebekah

From the SNAPS STAFF: We add our thanks for those across the Treasure Valley who have brightened this holiday season for so many children. Thanks to all these generous donors, no child will wake up on Christmas morning without presents, even in an emergency foster sutuation. You warmed our hearts as we passed these gifts along to their intended recipients.

We wish you all the joy of giving and good fortune in the coming New Year!
