OUR MISSION: To support children in foster care who have special needs, to decrease the time they wait for permanent families, and to expand the geographical boundaries in which the best adoptive families may be found.

Chad Pingree enlisted the help of many people to complete an Eagle Scout project that would provide comfort duffle bags for children entering foster care. In order to attract help, Chad typed a letter about his project. He handed this out and also posted it on Facebook. Chad also presented the project at a Court of Honor for his Scout troop. The response was tremendous! With the aid of 50 members of his network--family, friends, neighbors and church members--the project moved forward. Over a two-month period, donations poured in; socks, underwear, blankets, pens, pencils, notebooks, packs of gum, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, brushes, Chapstick, deodorant, hand towels, soap, and financial support to purchase the backpacks. Chad then organized the items to be placed in new duffle bags with labels attached as to the age range and gender. He lead a bag stuffing event, attended by his family, his grandma, and folks from "Families Supporting Adoption."
By the completion of this project, Chad will have logged approximately 100 volunteer hours. Twenty-nine pre-teens and teens will receive hygiene and comfort items, including snacks.
Nicely done, Chad! And we thank your friends and family too!
